Mycelium Structures at University of Colorado College of Architecture and Planning
I had the good fortune to be invited by Assistant Professor Assia Crawford to be a juror at the final review of Studio V March, Bio-Baroque: Culture and Identity in the Bio-Digital Age” December 5, 2024. The jury was held in the Annex Lobby next to the CAP building in downtown Denver. That was an excellent space for our jury due to its diffused daylighting and great sidewalk exposure.
This was my third adventure as a juror at Dr. Crawford’s class focused on creating structure with mycelium. It’s been fascinating to observe the progression over those three years as the first class focused largely on the mechanics of making simple blocks out of mycelium, while this class was able to progress to more symbolic and decorative uses of the basic material.
I hope you enjoy the below images from the jury.
